The Black Hills offer many fun and unique activities and adventures while you enjoy your stay at the K-Bar-S lodge. One of the area's best attractions is the nightly lighting ceremony at Mount Rushmore National Memorial - best of all it is FREE! Just up the road from our lodge, this nightly event is held at the outdoor ampitheater at the foot of the sculpture. The 30-minute program consists of a short ranger talk, a film about the four presidents on the mountain, the playing of the National Anthem and the lighting of the Memorial. Summer lighting times are 9 p.m. each night (program begins at 8 p.m. in September).
